<p>I haven&#8217;t posted in a while and the reason is because I haven&#8217;t gone to the gym since I last posted. AWFUL. no blame, no shame, move on. I had done so well my first week of keeping track and then the next week it&#8217;s like I forgot everything, ate a bunch of crap and never worked out. I feel bloated and fat and lazy, probably because I am.</p>
<p>no blame, no shame.</p>
<p>I will go tomorrow.</p>

<p>i don&#8217;t feel bad that i was only at the gym for 45 minutes. Often, I&#8217;d think that if I only went for such a short time, I may as well not go at all. and that&#8217;s so so so incredibly untrue. going as often as possible is more important for me than going for a long period once in a while. the reason is routine.. and routine/habit is what i&#8217;m aiming for right now.  i hadn&#8217;t been to the gym until recently for about 3 or 4 weeks. if i get into the habit of going every day, i&#8217;m more likely to go. does that make sense? because then, if i don&#8217;t go, something in my day feels off. when i get into a funk of not going for three or four days in a row, it&#8217;s SO hard for me to get back into it.</p>
<p>i&#8217;ve also decided i&#8217;m going to keep track of what i eat. the last time i did this, i did it for the wrong reasons. let&#8217;s not get into that. forgive and forget your own past. i&#8217;m not concentrating on calories at this stage.. but it will help seeing bluntly all the crap i&#8217;ve eaten in a day to remind myself what i could have eaten instead.</p>
<p>today was a slice of pepperoni pizza for lunch and an iced coffee, a vanilla yogurt before gym, and now a 1 liter bolthouse farms berry boost and a half can of hash. i know how important breakfast is but i have to be to work at 7:30am and i haven&#8217;t been able yet to wake up early enough to eat something.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>didn&#8217;t workout today, had a headache and i&#8217;m planning on driving up to massachusetts tomorrow morning so there were some things here i had to get done.  excuses, excuses right? really though. days off are necessary. it&#8217;s good to give certain muscle groups a break now and again.</p>
<p>what i did discover, though, is that my apartment complex is exactly 1.0 mile long. so if i walked it, (and we&#8217;re talking to and from) it would be 2 miles for me. I&#8217;d like to get in the habit of doing that every day as soon as I get home from work. walking, I wouldn&#8217;t even have to change into gym clothes. yeah, it&#8217;s definitely something i want to do.. cause it&#8217;s also somewhat hilly. i&#8217;d like to get back into riding my bike, too&#8230; i severely miss the days when i&#8217;d ride it every single day living in philadelphia. my endurance was top notch.  we&#8217;ll see</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Motivation isn&#8217;t easy.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m starting this blog as part of my motivation; charting my progress, posting healthy recipes, realizing my goals.</p>
<p>I plan on updating with my daily workout and keeping track of my stats weekly.</p>
<p>Things to realize in starting:</p>
<ul>
<li>pounds are different than inches; muscle and fat both have weight.</li>
<li>calories are not worth counting; miles ran and pounds lifted are.</li>
<li>the numbers will not decrease each time; i&#8217;m looking for an overall average loss, not a rapid decline.</li>
<li>the gym being closed or no gas in the car is no excuse; my apartment complex is at least a mile long</li>
<li>i will inevitably end up being my greatest critic; i must also learn to be my greatest motivator</li>
